Introduction

If you are a historical hobbyist, have a general interest in the past, or are a serious student of military history, we invite you to take a look at a new way to look at histoy's greatest conflicts with our new series: Clickabattles™.

Our premiere offering centers around "The Battle of Midway," the classic David and Goliath myth lived out in June of 1942 when the limping Pacific Fleet sent four Japanese carriers to the bottom of the sea. It has been called "The Turning Point" of the Pacific War, and the birthplace of modern carrier warfare. It is also widely regarded as one of the most dramatic and interesting war stories of all time. For these reasons, and many more you'll see in the software, our choice was easy.

So what is it?
Clickabattles: The Battle of Midway is an intensive look at this battle in a true multi-media format. We've researched the battle and put together a 16,000 word reconstruction spanning from the Japanese-U.S. relations prior to the attack on Pearl Harbor, to the days after the Battle of Midway ended. Highlighting the account are highly detailed interactive graphics, figurative animations, nearly two hundred photos, more than a dozen movie clips, information and details about the ships, planes, and leaders who took part. For exact information on how many photos, movie clips, animations, etc., check out the Contents page.

When you are nearly ready to order, make sure to check the System Info page and look at the sample animations. That will help you judge how well the animations will play on your computer. We made the decision to base this program on vector graphics so that our users would need no special video cards and that this software will last and perform even better on your next machine. Remember throwing away Commodore64 software? We can safely say that you will probably be revisiting Clickabattles for quite some time into the future.

And, last but certainly not least, I personally invite you to drop me a line and let me know what you liked, or, yes, I can take it, what you didn't like about the software. I've really enjoyed being a part of the team putting this new media together, and look forward to some feedback.

Thank you.
